Laser Service Inc. 2011 Website Redevelopment

After 5 years with their Joomla Based website and little or no SEO effort, local printer repair company (disclaimer: owned by my parents), Laser Service Inc (LSI, www.laserservice.com) needed to step it up a notch and create an effective web presence.

With the design done, we were able to target 70 (!) cities within LSI’s service area – and have effectively gotten top 5 Google search results for over 80% of the targets.

I rendered these rings as tests of post production techniques. The addition of blur, noise, and a degree of field effect all increase realism without increasing render time.

Studio Laguna Beach – Flash to HTML\PHP\CSS Update and Design Refresh

Studio Laguna Beach needed their website to work with Apple Ios mobile devices – which do not load the Flash ActionScript files their site was composed of. We took their existing site, translated the core aesthetic and functional elements to Javascript, HTML, and other more reliable technologies.

In the process I proposed a slightly updated look which the client loved and we ran with. The Before and After is dramatic considering the initial scope of the project.

Battle Shots – Drinking Game

BattleShots is a drinking game for adults based on the classic pen and paper game ‘Ship Battle’, or batter known as Battleship.

I designed the product and the packaging – as well as the website, a companion app and additional materials.

Golden Oasis is a publicly traded new energy company specializing in lithium battery systems. With absolutely NOTHING to go on except a brief document, we created the website, identity, and datasheet design in less than 3 weeks.
With some creative illustration and a lot of copywriting, this project shows what we can do when presented with nothing but a budget and a few sentences of explanation.

BattleShots Companion App

The BattleShots companion application is a possibly revolutionary concept involving the use of a smartphone or tablet device to augment a board game’s play with advanced score keeping, time tracking, sound effects, and other interactive features not normally associated with a ‘common’ board game.

This version of the companion app was developed using Flex Mobile, AS3, PHP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, And some additional web technologies.
